Evangelism: All Called to Share the Good News

Every follower of Jesus is called to share the good news of salvation through Jesus. Evangelism is a responsibility and privilege given to all believers.

The Gospel is the power of God for salvation, and we are invited to participate in God’s mission to reach the world, this is not an opinion, this is scriptural and can be found in Key Bible Scriptures such as:

Mark 16:15 (NIV)

“He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”

Matthew 28:19-20 (The Great Commission, NIV)

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Acts 1:8 (NIV)

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

2 Timothy 4:2 (NIV)

“Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage with great patience and careful instruction.”

Romans 1:16 (NIV)

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.”

1 Peter 3:15 (NIV)

“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”

Main Points

1. The call is for Everyone

• Jesus’ command in the Great Commission applies to all disciples.

• We are ambassadors for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20)

2. We are Empowered by the Holy Spirit

• Evangelism is not about clever words or winning discussions or proving our point but planting seeds- it is Spirit led.

• God gives us boldness, opportunities and the right words.

3. Practical ways to share the good news

• Live a life that reflects Jesus (your testimony speaks loudest)

• Build genuine relationships and LISTEN first.

• Invite people to Church, Bible study or a Christian event.

• Use everyday conversations to point to God’s love and truth, let people know when they ask for advice for situations or circumstances as to how God helps you in troubled times or when facing tough decisions.

4. Overcoming Fear and Obstacles

• Fear is normal but God is with us.

• Pray for courage and open doors (Colossians 4:3-4).

• Start small and trust the Holy Spirit for the results (you find that most Evangelists you follow online started small, so it is ok).

5. The joy and Eternal Impact

• There is an amazing feeling that comes with bringing one person to faith in the Lord.

• Heaven rejoices over every sinner who repents (Luke 15:10)

Application/ Challenge

• Pray daily for one specific person God has placed in your life.

• Take ONE intentional step to share ( a kind word, invitation or short testimony)

• Write a bible verse and leave it in a random place for someone who might need it to discover it under Gods guidance.

• Memorise one verse to have ready for someone and yourself that has helped you in tough situations.
